Work on The Bill Lindsay Trail

Recently we had a working bee on the Bill Lindsay Trail which will need attention in late Spring every year after the spring  growth. I appeal to all leaders to consider posting a walk for November of each year that includes time to tidy up our trail.

This year the growth was particularly high and here we are admiring our work after slashing the grass to find our trail beneath it. L to R Tim, Iain, Paul, Lorraine. Photos by Monika Allotey.

The council had left a pile of pine logs obstructing a carparking area so Paul and Iain set to work creating an “arty” entrance to a bushland area…

After finishing off we went to the Kangarilla store for coffee and lunch, they have the best hamburgers and bake fresh every day.  Love supporting “local” they even stayed open longer for us.

Many thanks to the Willunga Basin Trail members who supported us and supplied the equipment.

[Ed: on the 2025 Bill Lindsay Trail walk, once again the Kangarilla store stayed open to serve us and furthermore the coffee was uncommonly excellent. And can I say that the whole walk was a delight; special mention goes to the diverse and interesting bunch and the late night around the campfire. And just in case you’re wondering, see this article for Bill Lindsay Trail maps & GPX files, plus a biography of the man himself]
